The challenge: 5 hours, 5 agencies and uncountable interesting brands for possible coops

The German Press Days, which takes place twice a year, are one of the highlights for fashion, beauty- and lifestyle interested bloggers, journalists and stylists out of Germany. Launched in 2008 by Clare Langhammer (Fake PR), Monika Dagree (Ontime PR) and Kerstin Geffert (Silk Relations) to enable industry experts to see the latest trends and collections of uncountable labels, order styles for new productions and expand their relations for the upcoming seasons, the B2B-event has become a real highlight of the fashion metropolis Berlin.

An event which pdm wouldn’t miss! We have been at the German Press Days for you and looked for upcoming projects and to network with their corresponding contact persons and designers and thereby look for the key pieces for the autumn/winter collections. pdm also has many exciting projects in the field of fashion and lifestyle on the run, so it is crucial to keep up with new trends to realize effective projects and ways of cooperation. The focus of our tour was sustainability, lifestyle and – of course – women’s and men’s wear.

From Mitte to Friedrichshain

We started at BOLD in Mitte at 10 am and worked our way forward to Friedrichshain’s Press factory, which was our last station. It is very recommendable to start the tour early as the showrooms are empty and one can easily take a real look around. Arrived at the showrooms one is guided through the rooms and gets to know information about the brand, collection, cooperation possibilities and everything else you want to know. In case the contact person of the brand you are interested in is guiding around other influencers, marketers or reporters, one can easily get in contact with them, too. How did we master the five-hour challenge? Which impressions did we collect and which brands are especially remarkable? Don’t worry, just read along:

BOLD, BLOW and Arne Eberle press+sales

We were cordially welcomed by BOLD at Torstraße and immediately got a tour through all showrooms. Due to our work for sustainable client projects we were instantly enthusiastic about the natural cosmetics label sensilis and their sun care products. After all summer is coming and we want to use the appropriate sun care.

Another eye catcher: The whole showroom of BOLD was decorated with arrangements of flowers from Bloomon. In every corner there were beautiful flowers scenically arranged. Bloomon is a Dutch flower label which was founded by three young gentlemen with a preference for beautiful flowers in Amsterdam. They put high value in a fast production and delivery process, quasi directly from the field into the vase: Pure flowerpower! In matters of fashion the new collection of the popular American label Opening Ceremony was most appealing to us. The label’s collections convinced with a perfect interplay of creativity, structure and linear designs.

We went on to the small but cozy store of BLOW, which convinced us with their My Little Box and das cape mädchen. My Little Box offers a monthly box with great beauty products and lifestyle accessories of famous brands, which are delivered directly to your place. The monthly surprise is carefully packed with many playful details. We are excited to see what we can do together with My Little Box and our client’s lifestyle segment.

The label das cape mädchen around founder Josephine Gaede really caught us with its stylish capes, which you can wear at any occasion. Actually a cape doesn’t sound like a real stylish key piece of an outfit. Still, we are overenthusiastic: das cape mädchen offers capes with a real must-have factor in many, oh so many colors!

Let’s move on. Next: A stopover at Arne Eberle press+sales at Linienstraße to fall in love with collections of Julian Zigerli, Cruba and JMB Jewelry. While Julian Zigerli reflects the 90s and his childhood memories in his current A/W collection, the Berliner label Cubra is dominated by plain cuts with precious fabrics like finely woven cashmere and natural materials like crystals. Beautiful! To complete a perfect outfit, you should not forget some jewelry. Especially when we are talking about accessories from JMB Jewelry. The Grand Tourismo collection is a tribute to motor sports and is characterized by a clear and straight design. Sporty but nevertheless elegant – perfect!

Head & Heart Communication & Press Factory

In front of the showroom of Head & Heart Communication a life-size giraffe and some Bassets by ZOOZOO immediately welcomed us out of the store window. The interior design of ZOOZOO is a real eye catcher, which we imagine to fit perfectly in our office, too. We were also looking for IT-pieces for shootings of some of our clients which we most likely have found there. Head & Heart Communication supervises many young brands of Germany, Denmark and Switzerland like Anne Gorke, Ilse Jacobsen or Selfnation, which delivers customized jeans in only 14 days. No mass production, no offcuts and still such a short delivery time – we are delighted! As newcomers are usually very open to collaborations we are excited to see what can be realized together in the next months.

Last year we cooperated with the kind colleagues of Press Factory on the TB GUIDE Shopping & Lifestyle, where they supported us among others with bag samples of Liebeskind for our cover shooting. We now have a good overview of the new collections of Liebeskind, Blush, Isabell de Hillerin and Mica Design for following projects.

We loved the bags of Front Row Society – portable art is totally fitting here – and of Kapton & Son, which due to their cooperation with influencers and use of social media especially on Instagram now have an upright social marketing appearance.

As we constantly try different testings of content strategies for our customers we got to know uncountable new cooperation possibilities – so stay tuned!

Conclusion:

We definitely rocked the challenge and got to know many cool brands and cooperation partners. A visit at the German Press Days can be a promising event because you merely can connect and network with agencies, partners and brands as easy as there. We are definitely looking forward to the next German Press Days!
